We regret that we are unable to take new bookings during the period of restrictions on social gatherings announced by the government due to the coronavirus epidemic. If you would like information about hiring rooms later in the year, please get in touch with James Wilson our Administrator using the contact details below.

The Friends Meeting House is an unusual venue that people sometimes fall in love with.  It  has a unique atmosphere, with a strong sense of history, and it is both a practical and inspiring place for your meeting or teaching.  Why not ask about letting the building or grounds?

We are already used by a variety of arts, community, spiritual, educational and small business users.  We’re particularly keen on longer term arrangements but of course do ask about one off hirings.

There are four rooms that can be hired; use of the kitchen is an extra.

Large Meeting Room

Small Meeting Room

Ann Rommert Room

Upstairs room
Access and inclusion.

The Large Meeting Room, Small Meeting Room and kitchen have step free or ramp access between them.   There are a couple of steps into the Ann Rommert room.
There is no lift to the upstairs room.  Care should be taken in the garden as one can trip.

There is a hearing loop system in the Large Meeting Room only.

Please notify us of any particular requirements.

Terms and conditions

There are various terms and conditions (link to come) but key are: there is to be no alcohol or smoking anywhere on the site; anything which will produce loud noise at night won’t be acceptable, because of our neighbours; the use of the building needs to be not wholly inappropriate to our values and testimonies.  (We’re very open minded but there are limits.)
