Vigil to commemorate World War 1 conscientious objectors

Tottenham Quakers will be holding a vigil on Thursday 15th May, to commemorate International Conscientious Objectors’ day.
The vigil will celebrate and pay homage to the more than 16,000 British conscientious objectors of WW1, and will pay a particular tribute to Tottenham conscientious objectors, who numbered more than 100, and to the families and peace networks which supported them.
The vigil will involve silent recollection in the Quaker tradition, interspersed with readings of texts and poems. It will be held from 6.30 to 7.30 pm, at:
Friends Meeting House
594 Tottenham High Road
